Monitor your Transmission Fluid Temperature, Air to Fuel Ratio, Engine Torque, and more with these X-Gauge codes. Or you can disconnect both terminal leads and touch them together, personally I prefer the first option. The best codes should be equal or close to equal after a good long cold soak. Then after 10mins reconnect, then switch on ignition and clear the dtc's. Disconnect the earth lead off the battery and press the brake a couple of times to discharge any stored capacitance. For the last few weeks I have been working with James DeLong of Linear Logic on some new X-Gauge codes for the Tundra. If the scangauge doesn't allow you to clear a dtc you can always do a hard reset. Is there a risk to have the ECM switching to degraded mode? So I now decided to plug back the EGR and to switch off the MIL, using the Scangauge. Thanks for all your comments and if this is already in a thread I'm sorry to do a do over.Yesterday I drove my puma with EGR disconnected, and of course after the 3rd switch-on the MIL occured.Īccording to my Scangauge II fuel consumption measurement, it seems that I improved my MPG, but I did not feel any difference in the driving. You can view what protocol your vehicle uses via the ScanGauge by following the instructions to the right. Plus 159.00 for this little scanner and reader is a real bargain with what it can do. Toyota / Lexus / Scion vehicles used two different OBDII protocols through the years, so you may be wondering which set of protocol dependent XGauges are correct for your vehicle. What I am wanting to know is my conclusion correct and Toyota actually was smart enough to put two sensors on the transmission if they did it's the first time I have ever seen it on a truck. While all OBD-II compliant vehicles supply a standard set of data that ScanGauge can read, some makes and models of vehicles can supply additional information beyond the standard set of data. See user manual page 39 to learn how to add X-Gauge. To my surprise both work and when I started the vehicle both showed the same temp, as the vehicle warmed up it actually showed one showing a cooler side and one showing a higher temp. ScanGauge2 for Toyota X-Gauge Codes Home Support X-Gauge Commands Toyota X-Gauges Toyota X-Gauges Each X-GAUGE consists of 4 program parameter screens TXD, RXF, RXD and MTH as well as one gauge name screen. I know it does coolant temp and voltage, and can be programmed to read the trans temp as well with the x-gauge feature. I had reservations as to the validity of what I was told but went ahead and entered both. Discussion Starter 1 I'm looking to get a Scangauge II for monitoring the engine (coolant temp, oil psi, trans temp, voltage). I was told that Toyota uses two sensors, one on the line entering the transmission and one exiting the transmission. I called the support line and was told it uses both of the xgauges. I bought one and when I got it I noticed on the Scangauge site they showed two X gauges for the 2016-2017 Tacoma. So after reading as much as I could it seemed like a scangauge II was about the only solution. I have a brake controller and WD hitch but was concerned about not knowing the transmission temp and not having a trans gauge. The Digital Gauges give you realtime data for your vehicle and the built-in Scan Tool allows you to read trouble codes and diagnose potentially expensive. I plan on pulling a 16 trailer that's weighs about 3400 empty weight, will come in at about 4500 loaded. I tried to find this info using the search feature but find anything.
